If you’ve ever had to take your cat to the vet, you already know. It’s not just a quick trip. It’s a full-blown saga. I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like taking my two monsters to their yearly vet appointment.
Taking Your Cats To The Vet
Step One: No Food, All Drama
We start off by taking away their food. They act like they haven’t eaten in days. True is extra dramatic. Love is sweet, but she gets hangry, so she got a chill pill to help her deal. These vet pills turn her into a snuggly potato. True, of course, needed three pills and still acted like I was trying to poison him.
Giving Pills to a Demon in Fur
To give True his medicine, I use my go-to method: put his booty between my legs, tilt his head back, and pop the pill in with a pill gun. It keeps him from moonwalking out of the room like he’s in a music video. It’s not cute, but it works. Most of the time.

The Car Ride from Hell
Love rides in her backpack like the little pro she is. True? He lost his backpack privileges after peeing in it at the vet once. So now he rides in a regular plastic carrier I can hose off if he decides to relive that moment. I use the car’s key fob to roll all the windows down and cool it off before they get in. North Carolina heat is no joke.
Our Cat Only Vet
Once we check in, we get our own little room. Love did great. Got her rabies shot, teeth looked good, and her weight is on point. True, on the other hand, gave full pet cemetery vibes. They had to glove up and go full exorcism mode. I wasn’t even allowed in the room. Probably for the best.

The Aftermath
When we got home, both cats were wobbling around like tiny drunk toddlers. I also feed them because they are starving after not eating for the day. After that, they both curled up next to me for the rest of the night
This is just a regular vet day at our house. If you’ve got a possessed cat too, I’d love to hear your story. Drop it in the comments.
