I’m inviting you inside to see exactly how I’ve set up my home for my two spoiled cats, True and Love.

Yes, they have their own bedroom. Yes, they have their own TV. And yes, there are scratching posts, tunnels, toys, and cozy spots in every room. This is real life in a cat mom household—DIY projects, a little chaos, and a lot of love.

The Cats’ Bedroom (Yes, Really)

First stop on the tour? The cats’ room.

I started by making them a DIY log cabin out of cardboard boxes, and it’s their favorite thing ever. It has storage underneath for me, and cozy, climbable levels for them. Win-win.

Then I made a cat tree that actually looks like a real tree, using an old table as the base. After that, I used the leftover wood to build them a climbing wall because, of course, I did.

I also created something I call the “carpet saver.” It’s a cardboard wrapped in sticky shelf paper, placed right by the door. The cats scratch that instead of destroying my carpet, and it cost me less than $3.

Yes, my cats have their own bathroom. I built a wooden litter box enclosure with little curtains. Because everyone deserves a bit of bathroom privacy.

True’s favorite hangout is a sunny little corner where he used to tear up some leather bins. I gave in, tossed some blankets and pillows on top, and now it’s his personal lounge.

Love’s favorite spot is on top of her wooden litter box. She likes to sit in a box by the window where she can nap and supervise the neighbors.

They also have a cordless cat water fountain, which I love because I can move it anywhere without needing to worry about an outlet.

Kitchen Setup & Feeding Routine

Their feeding station is simple but efficient. They get wet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a splash of water for hydration.

After Breakfast and before bed, they get 1/4 cup of dry food split between four puzzle feeders. We only use dry food for puzzle feeders and treats.

All their food and treats live in one cabinet that may or may not be organized, depending on the day.

Living Room Chaos: Cat Wall, TV, & More DIYs

This is where the party happens.

  • First-ever cat wall (still going strong)
  • DIY cat tree table I made so they’d stop falling onto the glass coffee table
  • A scratcher I shoved under my couch so they would scratch that and not my couch.
  • Cat TV setup surrounded by barriers because True pounces like it’s real wildlife

Also: toys everywhere. Spring toys, puzzle feeders, chewed-up paper bags. If you’ve got cats, you know.

The Patio

On the patio, I like to grow things the cats can eat. We are always growing cat grass and we grow catnip in the summer.

I got a netting to go over the bars on the balcony after Love was out on the ledge with her fluff in the breeze, scaring me to death. There’s netting that helps keep them safe, and I have a chair where I supervise their “outdoor” adventures.

A Bit of Privacy

You don’t get to see my bedroom, but the comforter is white and covered in cat hair.
