Yes, Cat TV is a real thing. And it’s Genius.
Cat TV is YouTube for cats. Birds, squirrels, fish, bugs, toys, if it moves, they’re watching. The goal is to give indoor cats something that mimics hunting behavior. Mental stimulation. Something to chase (even if it’s just on a screen). And like people, every cat has their own taste.
So I let my cats binge YouTube. All in the name of science. Here’s what happened.
Cat TV Channel Reviews
Channel 1: The Burger King
This was the first one they got obsessed with. Think birds, squirrels, chipmunks, tiny creatures sprinting across the screen.
True goes feral for the blue birds and the black squirrels. He sits on his little couch, stares like he’s watching a thriller, then lunges like the prey is real. Love prefers to snuggle in with her blankie and watch quietly from a distance. She knows when to let her brother have the screen.

Channel 2: Birder Chieu
This one is loaded with bright tropical birds—yellows, neons, colors cats can see really well.
Love is fully hypnotized by the yellow ones. We think it’s the color, but who knows. Either way, it gets paws up approval in our house.
Channel 3: Blue Ocean
Not gonna lie. This one might be my favorite.
It’s calm, slow, and really pretty. When the cats need to wind down (or I do), I turn on this channel. Floating fish and soft music. Love stares at it like she’s watching her dinner swim by.

Channel 4: Cat Games
Play with cats without having to play with them.
It’s a white play mat, and hands are dragging toys across the screen. I swear they think it’s a live game. They actually try to pounce on the screen like it’s an interactive toy. It’s giving “cat unboxing video” vibes, and they are way too into it.

Pro Tips for Setting Up Cat TV
- Don’t use your phone. Use a big screen at your cat’s eye level.
- Dim the lights for that full theater experience.
- Sit with them the first time so they’re not confused.
- Try a few different channels. Some cats need time to figure out what they like.
Our cat TV setup is under the same TV I watch, so we can hang out and watch our shows together. Cat bonding time and quiet time all in one.
